Last week, the Minister of Natural Resources Jonathan Wilkinson hosted a roundtable with industry stakeholder groups to discuss the Federal Green Buildings Strategy discussion paper.

MCA Canada took part in the discussion with several other national associations, including the Canadian Institute of Plumbing and Heating. The roundtable looked at the overall direction of the green buildings strategy, and discussed the key areas that will need to be addressed in order to meet the federal government’s objectives, including the need for skilled trades support and working closely with industry to build capacity with respect to innovation.

MCA Canada welcomed the opportunity to be a part of the discussion, and looks forward to continued engagement on the file. The association will also be preparing an overall response to the strategy document, and welcomes feedback from members. More information on the strategy is available online.
