On May 15 and 16 respectively, representatives from the National Trade Contractors Coalition of Canada appeared before the House of Commons Standing Committee on Finance and the Senate Standing Committee on Banking, Trade and Commerce to answer any questions committee members may have with respect to Bill C-97, the Budget Implementation Act, which includes provisions for prompt payment legislation.

The hearings at both levels were positive. We now feel very confident that prompt payment legislation will be enacted before the dissolution of parliament for the fall election. We will keep you updated on all developments with respect to this file.
