“We are extremely excited to host this conference on innovation, particularly given the changing landscape of our industry,” said Pierre Boucher, MCAC’s Chief Executive Officer. “We have seen how other industries have been disrupted by new innovations and technologies, and felt it was important to have these discussions with our members, as well as other important players in our industry.”

The conference, which is themed The Innovation Mindset: Converting Opportunities into Realities, will be held at the Beanfield Centre in Toronto, and will include the general sessions throughout the day on April 16, a networking reception for attendees, and an exhibit area where game-changing innovations will be showcased.

The conference program will kick-off with a discussion on the current industry landscape, as well as several of the findings from the World Economic Forum Shaping the Future of Construction Initiative. Following this, the conference will explore a number of emerging trends and technologies that have the potential to disrupt the industry.

Featuring acclaimed speakers, the conference will provide important discussion about the future of artificial intelligence, the digital transformation of the industry, energy efficiency and the important role the construction industry can play, and modularization and BIM, to name a few topics and issues facing the industry.

“As the national association representing mechanical contractors across Canada, many of our members have discussed their desire to learn more about new technologies and innovations,” said MCAC President and Board Chair Jack Bavis. “We believe this program will help fulfill that, while initiating important dialogue about what the future of our industry looks like. Most importantly, these discussions are critical to exploring how we can best prepare for the changing landscape of our industry.”
