To our valued members,

On behalf of MCA Canada, I hope all is well with you and your employees as we head into the final stretch of 2021. It certainly wasn’t the year we anticipated, but it has been great to see our sector carrying on the important work to provide safe and healthy working and living environments for all Canadians.

As many of you may have seen, this past week marked the annual Women in Construction Week, with many associations and organizations across North America celebrating the successful women in our industry. At MCA Canada, we believe in an inclusive and welcoming mechanical contracting sector, and are pleased to have our own Women in Mechanical Construction Initiative to help lead the discussion on this very important topic.

On the advocacy front, this month also saw the appointment of a new federal cabinet, as we head into the 44th Parliamentary session. MCA Canada looks forward to discussing key issues with this new government, including skilled labour, the impact of supply chain issues on the sector, and the finalization of prompt payment legislation at the federal level.

As always, if there are any questions or comments on this bulletin, or on any other topics and issues of interest, please do not hesitate to reach out to our office.

Sincerely,

Tania Johnston
