It’s fall y’all! As I watch the leaves change and enjoy the cooler weather, I would be remiss not to reflect on the ways we have changed this year…for the better.
LSAE has been a beacon of hope for me during this challenging year, and I hope for you, too. My goal at the beginning of this year was to incorporate fresh ideas into our association with the help of our wonderful staff, leaders, committee chairs, and members. You have all stepped up like never before! Our fresh ideas took new form. At the core of all we have done, and continue to do, has been comradery, support, grace, kindness, and perhaps some tears at time that were greeted with a (virtual or in-person) shoulder to lean on. Our fight is far from over. Many are still struggling and we want you to know that LSAE is here for you.
As I watched Frozen II with my daughters this week (for the millionth time), I was enamored with a quote from Olaf: “The Enchanted Forest will bring transformation.” 2020 has been our enchanted forest. In the midst of the deep fog we have been in this year, we have seen some amazing transformations. We have grown and adapted for our members and clients. We have shown amazing value that our associations provide for our members. While we have not torn down the fjord of the pandemic yet, we continue onward, better than before, constantly learning and adapting TOGETHER.
This summer I encouraged our committees to not write this year off. I saw a picture on social media in June that said to throw in the 2020 towel, set up Christmas and call it a year. NO! Even now, as we approach fall, there is still time to accomplish the goals we set at the beginning of the year. Some of these goals may look different or may have taken on new form, but we still have time this year to make an impact in LSAE and our own associations and companies. Don’t give up on this year just yet, let’s finish strong TOGETHER!
Don’t give up on this year.
Keep fighting for the good.
Keep showing up.
Keep loving.
Keep giving back.
Keep being kind.
Keep being brave.
Keep caring.
Keep trying new things.
Keep showing grace.
Keep on.
This world needs you to believe in the good.
