"The beginning of this year has challenged us more than ever. We have been faced with obstacles we never imagined, and our community has come together to weather a pandemic and find positivity in the midst of so much negativity and uncertainty.

For me, I spent the beginning of the year motivated, planning a year of events, traveling the state visiting members and legislators, being socially close to so many. By the end of our first quarter, we have been forced to be socially distant, forced to postpone or cancel events, and communicate with our members in new ways in order to protect ourselves and those around us. But this doesn’t mean we should be any less motivated moving forward; we are still tasked with providing benefits to our members in new creative ways. This is an opportunity and throughout all of this, I am reminded of the impact our associations have on so many people."

– Kathleen O'Regan, 2020 LSAE President
