2.0 – The Standard for Next Generation Intelligent Buildings & Smart Grid
This
session focuses on the LonMark 2.0 initiative. New features include a roadmap
for standardizing BACnet solutions with LonMark certified devices, support for
transports such as IPv6/v4, WPAN and WiFi RF (802.15.4, 802.11x). Attendees
discover how LonMark 2.0 enables interoperability for Smart Grid and
Intelligent Building applications

Crossing
the Chasm – BACnet System Designers Deliver the Goods with LonMark Devices
This
session provides insight into how BACnet solutions are specified and deployed
using LonMark certified devices. BACnet today is well established at the top
level in 2-tier network architectures. LonMark certified devices deliver the
definitive interoperable framework. Together, system designers are recognizing
the full life-cycle benefits of open system solutions.

Taming
the Internet of Things (IoT) with Interoperable Device Profiles
This
session will focus how the Internet of Things (IoT) is impacting the landscape
of intelligent building systems. Standard device profiles provide users the
tools to tame the new frontier of IoT solutions. The common thread across the
connected IoT fabric of IPv6/v4, RF, wired, and power line of communications
will be device profiles. A good profile framework provides for the exchange of
information across the apparent barriers of varied communication transports.

Specification
Guidelines for Open Integrated Building Systems
This session will focus on the best practices for developing
project specifications, system architecture requirements, technology selection,
and communications for control systems. Concepts including the following will
be discussed: Two and Three Tier System Architectures The Role of the Master
Systems Integrator Standard Guide Spec Development Efforts Integration of BAS,
BMS and the IT/Enterprise Networks Value to Owners of Open Specs CAPEX and OPEX
Tradeoffs At the conclusion of this session, the attendee will have a good
general working knowledge of the concepts and best practices facing system
specification development as well as an understanding of the value, choices,
and market direction.
