Ilo-Ilo Hardware Store Joins Castle, Bringing New Life to a Cumberland BC Landmark
Castle Building Centres Group Ltd. is thrilled to welcome Ilo-Ilo Hardware Store as its newest member, bringing a vibrant, community-driven home improvement destination to the heart of Cumberland, BC.
Owned by Robyn and Nick Hock, the new store represents a major revitalization project for the iconic Ilo-Ilo Theatre, which the couple transformed through a two-year structural and seismic renovation. The result is an expansive modern retail space that blends hardware essentials with a uniquely local twist.
“We had a long history with Castle at our last location and are excited to bring our new store back into the Castle family,” said owners Robyn and Nick Hock. “Castle lets dealers run their stores their way, no unnecessary systems, no long-term restrictions, just real support. For us, Castle is the best.”
With a grand opening planned for Spring 2026, Ilo-Ilo Hardware Store is poised to become a key contributor to Cumberland’s growing, tight-knit community.
“Robyn and Nick embody everything Castle believes in, independence, community leadership, and entrepreneurial spirit,” said Ken Jenkins, President of Castle Building Centres Group Ltd. “Their story reflects our mission and our commitment: We Build Communities. We’re proud to support their exciting new chapter in Cumberland.”
As longtime Islanders known for building strong local relationships, the Hocks are ready to bring their experience, energy, and community-first focus to Vancouver Island’s mountain town — continuing Castle’s coast-to-coast mission of empowering independents who help build the communities they serve.
