TIMBER MART Appoints New Regional Director for British Columbia

TIMBER MART has appointed Doug Smith as their new regional director of Member Services for British Columbia, effective immediately. Mr. Smith will be responsible for managing relationships with TIMBER MART members in British Columbia and acting as a liaison between TIMBER MART and the regional membership.

“Doug has over 35 years of experience in sales, recruiting and operations within the building material industry which he’s gained by working for a variety of retailers,” says Phil Temple, director of Member Services. “Throughout his time in our industry, Doug has built many strong relationships with TIMBER MART members and vendors and will surely be an asset to our members in B.C. with his deep knowledge of building material retail.”

Mr. Smith began his career in the building material industry in 1986 in a retail environment where he led and developed sales teams and managed store operations, merchandising projects and inventories. In his new role, he will work to ensure that members receive competitive advantage in their local markets through all of TIMBER MART’s programs, products and services that allow them to further develop profitable and sustainable businesses. He will report directly to TIMBER MART’s Director of Member Services, Phil Temple, and be based out of TIMBER MART’s distribution centre in Langley, B.C.


TIMBER MART Appoints New Regional Director for the Prairies

TIMBER MART has appointed Joel Kakoske as their new regional director of Member Services for the Prairies, effective immediately. Mr. Kakoske will be responsible for managing relationships with TIMBER MART members in the Prairies and acting as a liaison between TIMBER MART and the regional membership.

“Joel has over 15 years of experience in sales, recruiting and marketing within the building material industry which he’s gained by working within the retail sector and for a variety of vendors,” says Phil Temple, director of Member Services. “With Joel’s many strong relationships with TIMBER MART members and vendors in Western Canada coupled with his knowledge and experience in building material sales, he will surely be an asset to our members in the Prairies.”

Mr. Kakoske began his career in the building material industry in 2011 as a business development manager and quickly advanced to sales management, marketing and eventually, recruitment. In his new role, he will work to ensure that members receive competitive advantage in their local markets through all of TIMBER MART’s programs, products and services that allow them to develop profitable and sustainable businesses. He will report directly to TIMBER MART’s Director of Member Services, Phil Temple, and be based out of TIMBER MART’s distribution centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
