On Thursday, November 30th, the 106th Annual General Meeting of the LBMAO was held at the beautiful Prince of Wales Hotel in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Both retail and supplier members participated in a great meeting about the future direction of their association.

This meeting also included elections for new retail board members. The new board members are Charles Westrik from Elora Building Supplies (RONA) and Andrew Doidge from Doidge Building Centres (RONA). The meeting topics included discussions on the current finances, the calendar of events for 2024 and a request for new items that will create additional interest in the association.

The evening concluded with a delicious gourmet dinner, music and dancing and some great networking that had been sorely missed in recent years. This was the first AGM celebrated in person with a meeting and annual dinner since Covid. It was a great privilege to celebrate together with all the retailers and suppliers.

Special thanks go out to our Vice Chair of the Board, Barbara Schering, for filling in for our Chair, Rebecca Gravelle, who could not attend in person. The LBMAO would also like to thank recently retired Joanne Moquin who helped plan the event as well as Gail Gwozdz and Carolyn Buffa from our office who worked very diligently to make sure that the meeting (both online and in person) came together and were a success. Their efforts made things happen very smoothly. I would also like to thank Carolyn’s husband Mario for all his help in making sure that the technology all worked.

If you missed the AGM and the networking events that followed, please plan to attend next year.
