Castle Welcomes New Location in Western Canada

Castle’s member growth continues with the addition of a new member location in Edmonton, Alberta. The new specialty location: Edmonton Roof Truss, includes a truss manufacturing facility and a wide variety of engineered wood products available to contractors in Edmonton and surrounding areas.

Owners, Don and Nicole were excited when the opportunity arose to purchase an existing truss facility in the area that was established over 40 years ago. Don had spent nearly twenty years serving the local contractor market already as the President of Castle location Mission Building Supplies in Edmonton and along with his family, has decades of experience in the home improvement contractor market.

“With the Mission Building Supplies name and stellar reputation in the industry, our team is looking forward to servicing the existing customer base, as well as looking to cultivate new clientele for continued growth as a Castle location.” Don Clement, Owner & President

The new facility and retail store will host a Contractor Open House in the Fall to welcome their new and existing customers and celebrate the grand opening.

“Castle’s organic growth continues to happen across Canada. Our members are well positioned to take advantage of growth opportunities and have confidence in their future success. Castle is committed to this success and our business model provides the necessary support to make this happen. Congratulations to Don and Nicole on the new location.” Ken Jenkins, President & CEO

Castle Charity Golf Tournament Raises Record Contribution for SickKids

Castle Building Centres Group held their annual Vendor Appreciation Golf Tournament this past week where Castle staff, directors and local members gathered with their Vendor Partners at the picturesque Club at North Halton. The pristine greens and rolling hills of the Georgetown, Ontario golf club made for a beautiful backdrop as over 150 guests enjoyed a fun-filled day of golf, camaraderie, and exciting charity golf challenges.

Once again, participants showed their unwavering support for the SickKids Foundation while enjoying a spectacular day at the Club at North Halton’s award-winning course.
They quickly realized they were on a route that they did not want to follow as an independent business owner, and that this route also came with unrelenting and recurring banner fees. It became clear that they needed to return to a buying group with a business model designed for the truly independent retailer. That’s when they made the move back to Castle.

Golfers had the opportunity to participate in many charity holes throughout the course and following the tournament the group enjoyed a gourmet meal and awards presentation in the dining room overlooking the 9th hole.

Castle’s annual charity golf function continues to support The SickKids Foundation through the support and generosity of their Vendor Partners. Castle put forth a contribution challenge to the participants to hit a new milestone this year and they delivered. Castle was able to raise the record amount of $60,000 at the event to commemorate their 60th anniversary year.

Sincerest gratitude goes out to their Vendor Partners for another hugely successful fundraising event. Thank you from the Castle Family.
