TIMBER MART Welcomes New Member in British Columbia

 

Located in Pemberton, B.C., independent building material and hardware dealer, Pemberton Valley Building Centre Ltd. (Pemberton Valley Building Centre) joins TIMBER MART to regain their independence and benefit from the group’s national buying power in order to better serve their local market’s needs.

“We’re a small-town, rural operation with very different customer needs than an urban setting and being a member of TIMBER MART provides us with access to the products a rural customer needs – versus what a large corporation feels we should offer,” says Garth Phare, vice-president and general manager of Pemberton Valley Building Centre. “We look forward to regaining our independence as a business and being true to ourselves and to our community as we grow and build on our success.”

Pemberton Valley Building Centre has been serving the contractors and DIYers of Pemberton for the last 21 years with a wide assortment of hardware and building materials. Today, the business employs a team of 36 staff across their two properties, which include a 7,200-square-foot retail space in downtown Pemberton on one property, and a four-acre lumber yard with a 24,000-sqaure-foot building-material storage unit a few kilometres away, on another. By the fall of 2024, the owners, Garth and Valerie Phare, Blair Gourlay, Deborah Phare and Jeff Clarke, plan to open a new 20,000-sqaure-foot store that will amalgamate both hardware and building material offerings from the company in one convenient location.
