A Summer Job That Could Lead to a Successful Career
As the home improvement and construction industry enters its busiest season, Lowe’s Canada, one of Canada’s leading home improvement retailers operating or servicing some 450 corporate and affiliated stores under different banners, is looking for some 500 people to fill positions in its RONA and Réno-Dépôt stores in Québec.

“What’s great about working in our Québec stores is that our head office is in Boucherville, on the South Shore of Montreal. We offer much more than a summer job to Québec students. We offer them a gateway to our vast network with many long-term career opportunities,” explains Nadine Chiasson, Director, Talent Acquisition at Lowe’s Canada. “We strongly value internal growth at Lowe’s Canada, and our store associates are an excellent talent pool for our head office positions. This is a great opportunity for students who would like to continue their career with us after graduation.”
Those interested in a job in a RONA or Réno-Dépôt store can visit a store to apply. They may even get an interview on the spot with a manager.

Wall-to-wall opportunities
In addition to in-store positions, Lowe’s Canada is currently recruiting for seasonal positions at its Boucherville distribution centre. With a very competitive starting salary and a Monday to Friday work schedule, this distribution centre offers attractive conditions for students in the Greater Montreal area.

Lowe's Canada’s In-House Innovation Rewarded During the 2022 Retail Council of Canada's Excellence in Retailing Awards Gala

Lowe’s Canada, one of Canada’s leading home improvement retailers operating or servicing some 450 corporate and affiliated stores under different banners, proudly accepted an award for the In-Store Experience & Design category (tied) during the Retail Council of Canada’s (RCC) Excellence in Retailing Awards Gala. This event celebrates Canada’s retail innovators and game changers by spotlighting accomplishments, new ideas, and the very best in Canadian retail leadership
.
The award for In-Store Experience & Design recognizes Lowe’s Canada’s implementation of myredvest, an innovative self-serve and assisted checkout solution that adds value to the in-store shopping experience. Multiple teams across Lowe’s Canada designed and developed this user-friendly platform in-house and delivered it to customers and associates at 51 Lowe’s, RONA, and Réno-Dépôt stores in Canada in under two years.

"With our omnichannel mindset, we are always looking for ways to offer an optimized and seamless customer experience across all channels. Myredvest provides a simple and easy checkout experience while reducing wait times and freeing up our associates to focus on serving our customers on the floor," said Malcolm Parks, Senior Vice-President, Stores. "Despite working through a period marked by IT hardware shortages, our new technology was conceived, developed, and rolled out in record timing and under challenging circumstances. This award is dedicated to the hundreds of associates across our network who stepped up to this huge opportunity to enhance our customer checkout experience.”

Myredvest’s success positions Lowe’s Canada to develop more in-house products that enhance the customer journey. “We are working together to bring forward-looking projects to life that better serve our customers,” said Christian Castonguay, Divisional Vice-President, Infrastructure and Applications, IT at Lowe’s Canada. “Myredvest’s underlying technology is now the cornerstone of our technological vision as we move forward with developing new generations of next-level customer resources.”

This is Lowe’s Canada’s fourth RCC award in the last five years. During the 2021 Gala, Lowe’s Canada was awarded ex-aequo the RCC’s Omni-Channel Award for its commitment to improving customer experience on every channel. RCC finalists and award winners are selected after an extensive consideration by a jury of retail industry experts.
