Home Hardware Leader Recognized in Retail TouchPoints’ 40 Under 40 Report
Home Hardware Stores Limited is pleased to announce Melanie Beatty, eCommerce Omni-Channel Manager at Home Hardware Stores Limited, has been recognized with a 2022 Retail TouchPoints 40 Under 40 award. This award celebrates the retail industry’s top 40 shining stars under the age of 40 who have completed innovative and remarkable work.

“I want to congratulate Melanie Beatty on being named among this impressive list of young retail innovators,” said Kevin Macnab, President and CEO, Home Hardware Stores Limited. “Home Hardware is fortunate to have talented and skilled leaders like Melanie who not only drive our business forward, but also empower and support those in their field.”

Melanie Beatty has been a member of the Home Hardware team since 2004 and brings over 20 years of experience to her role which involves leading the digital roadmap for Home’s eCommerce strategy. She has been instrumental in the planning and execution of projects such as the rollout of ship-to-home, the redesign of Home Hardware’s website to create a more harmonized shopping experience, and the launch of a unified commerce platform.

Retail TouchPoints’ 40 Under 40 honourees are selected based on criteria such as: completed innovative and remarkable work; significant contributions to education or associations that support the retail community; and being an all-around stand out in the industry.

Winners will be recognized at an awards celebration in Chicago in May during the Retail Innovation Conference & Expo and will be profiled on the Retail TouchPoints’ site and newsletter in July 2022.

Carol Crystal Appointed Vice-President, Merchandise LBM at Home Hardware Stores Limited

Home Hardware is pleased to announce the appointment of Carol Crystal to Vice-President, Merchandise LBM. Carol joined Home Hardware as Director, Merchandise Hardlines in August 2020 and transitioned to Director, Merchandise LBM in June 2021.

“The appointment of Carol Crystal demonstrates the expertise and deep bench of talent we continue to develop at Home Hardware, and I have complete confidence in her ability to deliver on our business and growth strategies,” says Marianne Thompson, Chief Merchandising Officer, Home Hardware Stores Limited. “Her passion for retail, coupled with her understanding of home improvement category management and our end-to-end business, make her well positioned to lead our LBM teams to a strong future.”

Carol is an accomplished business executive and proven leader who empowers her teams to think differently, drive change and achieve results. Her leadership, retail category management and business acumen will help lead operational and strategic initiatives on the LBM team.

Carol Crystal Biography:

Carol is a Merchandising expert with extensive experience in driving profitable sales and bridging the art and science of merchandising within multi-channel retail organizations. She brings almost 20 years of retail experience holding key executive roles. Prior to joining Home Hardware, Carol held executive roles at Lowe’s Canada, Walmart Canada and Hudson’s Bay.
