A New Bursary Pays Tribute to an Industry Icon

Print this Article | Send to Colleague

In recognition of Beverley Edey’s significant contribution to the LBM industry and the LBMAO, the Edey family has asked to have the association administer a memorial bursary fund in her name.

Beverley was a trailblazer in the LBM industry for over 40 years. She became the first female manager of a Beaver Lumber store in all of Canada. In recognition of her achievements to this industry, which included becoming the first female Director to sit on the board of the Lumber and Building Material Association of Ontario, Bev was awarded the LBMAO Industry Achievement Award in 2015.

In addition to her love for the LBM industry, Bev shared her passion for reading by actively participating in the Friends of the Library in Meaford which supports the local library and promotes the advantages of reading.

What better tribute to her memory than to set up a memorial bursary fund in her name, to assist others in achieving their education goals in the LBM industry!

Donations may be made to the bursary through the Ferguson Funeral Home. Click here to donate. They can also be made directly to the LBMAO via cheque or credit card, and this will be on a permanent basis. Cheques should be made payable to LBMAO – Beverley Edey Memorial Bursary Fund.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the LBMAO Office: 1-888-365-2626.
