Over the next little while we’ll be getting in touch to add an additional security measure to your POS terminal(s). The Pre-Authorization feature will be secured behind a password. If you don’t have a physical terminal, but do all of your processing through an online portal, please ignore this message.

We’re making this change due to the emergence of a clever new face-to-face scam that involves the conversion of a Sale to a Pre-Authorization. This conversion allows the fraudster to process a transaction without the need for a PIN and can be overlooked by busy employees.

This kind of swindle is carried out very rarely, but none the less, we would like to ensure that you’re protected from it. Please feel free to contact us with any questions in the interim.
