Castle Announces New Member Location in Toronto

On November 17th, Castle announced that Parliament Building Supplies has joined the Castle group. Parliament is strategically located in the bustling urban centre of downtown Toronto and is in close proximity to major city arteries. The location is a city landmark, whose history is rich and colourful, spanning over an entire century.

For over 100 years, Parliament Building Supplies has partnered with residential, commercial and industrial builders; contractors; and homeowners in Toronto. It is also a mission critical supplier to the city’s film and television production companies. Operating from a key location in downtown Toronto, Parliament is a one-stop-shop for lumber and building supplies, while providing expert advice, quality products and rapid turn-around time – all hallmarks of the company’s service oriented approach. Customers are serviced through its 15,000 square foot warehouse and 2 acre site, or via onsite delivery.

Now under new ownership, Parliament has decided to join the Castle group. Management recognized the substantial value that Castle will bring to its team and customers, while enhancing its market position. "Being part of Castle is a great fit for Parliament," says Parliament’s new president, Geoff Reed. "It gives us the flexibility and independence to meet our market’s unique requirements, while being able to leverage an impressive range of resources that comes as a result of Castle’s scale and demonstrated commitment to quality in everything it does."

We consider welcoming an iconic new member in a thriving urban location such as Toronto an incredible achievement for Castle and are extremely impressed by the long-term vision of the new ownership. Independents such as Parliament recognize that they are not just becoming part of another banner or buying group, they are becoming part of a culture. Castle’s dedicated support system is built around a partnership and our commitment to their success. We deliver this through Castle’s "Culture of Professionalism". Ken Jenkins, President, Castle Building Centres Group.

In addition to delivering an unparalleled customer experience, Parliament Building Supplies is also committed to the preservation of natural resources. They ensure that a selection of lumber products are FSC® Certified. This certification ensures that these select products have come from responsible forestry and have undergone a rigorous product verification process. The company is also committed to eliminating wood purchases from any endangered regions of the world.

Castle would like to welcome Parliament Building Supplies to the family.
