TIM-BR MART Launches Fifth Annual Buying Show With E-Commerce Advantage

Virtual Show Book and Order Site Introduced to Streamline Buying Process

Taking a cue from the success of Chalifour Canada’s virtual tradeshow, Virtuo, TIM-BR MART Group (TIM-BR MART) is hosting its fifth annual buying show this year from February 20th – 21st at the Toronto Congress Centre with an e-commerce advantage. For the first time, TIM-BR MART is introducing a virtual show book and an online ordering site that will allow hundreds of TIM-BR MART members and store managers at the show, the convenience of ordering hardware online.

"The virtual show book and order site are mobile friendly – making ordering easy and convenient for our members," says Randy Martin, TIM-BR MART’s Vice President of Business Development. "In the past, our members lugged around huge show guides for hours, and our hardware-vendor community drafted up hundreds of purchase orders by hand, but this year is different. We’ve combined the face-to-face interactive experiences of a buying show with the conveniences of the online world. This year our members will have the opportunity to not only take advantage of the floor deals but also be able to do so with the ease and convenience of ordering their products online."

The 73,000 square-foot show floor features specials and hot buys from a wide range of categories and are presented by over 200 attending vendors. "We’ve worked hard with our vendors to bring to our membership not only better buying programs for 2015, but also very aggressive deals at this year’s show," says Bernie Owens, TIM-BR MART Group President. "Aside from great buys, our show also offers our members valuable networking opportunities and learning experiences that they can take advantage of and apply in their stores throughout the year."

To support TIM-BR MART members during the show, TIM-BR MART’s "Solution Centre" features information hubs for all buying and retail-support programs the Group offers, including: marketing, merchandising, distribution, and Lumber and Building Material (LBM) solutions. Category Manger booths are also stationed throughout the show floor to help members capitalize on the buys at the show, answer questions and introduce members to new product trends and innovations.

On February 19th, TIM-BR MART hosted its National Dealer Meeting at the Toronto Congress Centre and opened the show later that evening with a welcome reception featuring Canadian band, the Speck Brothers. TIM-BR MART hosted a breakfast seminar presented by engineer and President of Building Knowledge, Gord Cooke, at 7:30 a.m. this morning. Events will continue tonight at a gala dinner where TIM-BR MART’s Vendor-of-the-Year Awards will be presented and feature performances by Nashville North line dancers and country band, Neon Rain.
