Paying more than lip service to the passive building movement

February 4, 2015 – Beamsville, Ontario: Cosella-Dörken Products, Inc. today announced a new partnership with Passive House Alliance US (PHAUS). Cosella-Dörken, a leading provider of innovative building façade, vapor barrier, and other high performance building components, has stepped up as a Silver Sponsor of the Alliance.

Cosella-Dörken joins 14 other sponsors in serving the 400 Alliance members across America, who range from professional builders and raters to students. The new partnership will help to strengthen the efforts of all involved to share knowledge and reduce the environmental impact of the building industry.

"Architects and builders today are looking for products to improve the energy efficiency of their buildings," says Peter Barrett, product manager, Cosella-Dörken Products, Inc. "The Passive House Alliance US promotes the use of high-performance building products best suited for Passive House buildings. It's the best way to achieve highly energy efficient buildings," Barrett adds.

Cosella-Dörken and PHAUS are committed to educating the building community and end users of passive buildings. This sponsorship brings the knowledge and experience Cosella-Dörken holds and pairs it with the existing wealth of information PHAUS houses. Cosella-Dörken is always evolving and progressing through a constant exchange of opinions, ideas and experiences with builders, contractors, architects and planners, construction engineers and representatives from the retail and wholesale trade.

Being a Silver Sponsor of PHAUS will include sharing knowledge with a large community dedicated to energy efficiency and passive building. PHAUS provides an interface between the Passive House community and leading providers of building materials and components, such as Cosella-Dörken.

"Furthering our commitment to passive building and reducing environmental effects," Barrett notes, "Krzysztof Apriasz, Technical Service Manager at Cosella-Dörken here in Beamsville, recently achieved the designation of Certified Passive House Consultant with Passive House Institute US. It is important for us to have an in-house Passive House Consultant because it will allow us to provide the highest level of technical service for the needs of all Passive House professionals."

"PHAUS members across the country are on the leading edge of passive building design and construction," said Michael Knezovich, Interim Executive Director of PHAUS, "and they are constantly looking for innovative, high-quality, high-performance building products. All of our sponsors fit that description, and we’re delighted that Cosella-Dörken has joined our supporters, and we look forward to a long relationship."
