TIM-BR MARTS Ltd Acquires CanWel Hardware
 TIM-BR MARTS Ltd., one of Canada’s largest buying groups for Independent lumber, building material and hardware dealers, has closed on their CanWel Hardware acquisition from CanWel Building Materials Group Ltd.The deal includes two hardware distribution operations in Victoriaville, QB and London, ON plus two Chalifour building material warehouses in Quebec. Since the deal also includes Canadian licensing rights to the ‘ACE’ brand name, entrepreneurs in the industry now have an internationally recognized brand available to them. The company will operate under the name Chalifour Canada. "This acquisition was a big step in ensuring that independent lumber, building material and hardware dealers across Canada will continue to hold their ground in a competitive marketplace," commented Tim Urquhart, President and CEO of TIM-BR MARTS Ltd. "We represent the Independent and our focus will be on carrying the products they want – the products their customers want. The intention moving forward is to retain a "business as usual" approach to existing relationships and agreements with an intention to developing new ones. Urquhart noted that the Company plans to welcome all current CanWel Hardware customers, emphasizing the acquisition will not disrupt supply from the four warehouses.
