TΔSK TOOLS sponsored the 2010 TERC (Transportation Emergency Rescue Committee) B.C. Regional Extrication Challenge held in Port Alberni. The event involved a two day challenge with nine competing firefighter teams from around BC cutting their way through vehicles to perform simulated rescues. Chris Waldner, Senior Product Manager for TΔSK said, "We are proud to sponsor such an important community initiative and also have an opportunity to showcase TΔSK quality to the men and women who save lives every day." The Cumberland Firefighters won first place and now move on to the Nationals.

Firefighters used the new TΔSK Signature Reciprocating Saw Blades for cutting through cars, proving that they cut faster and last longer than other competing products. Over two days firefighters cut through 30 cars, which attracted hundreds of spectators. There was also a training session that involved cutting up a 2010 Chevrolet Impala, which is a challenge because new safety standards, hi-tech materials, and heavily reinforced frames mean new vehicles are very resistant to demolition. Even under these challenging circumstances the TASK Signature blades performed as advertised, enabling the firefighters to dissect the near-new vehicle with relative ease.

These challenges ensure that all emergency service personnel are exposed to rescuer and patient safety considerations, the latest extrication techniques, new innovations in extrication tools, and up to date information on new vehicle technology.
