It certainly is a strange start to February 2020. Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow Sunday predicting an early Spring; I’m sitting on my front porch in shorts, a tee shirt, and flip-flops, drinking a beer in 70 degree weather on February 3rd, and the Iowa Caucuses still can’t produce a winner. Very strange.
Well, regardless of the rodent, the weather, or politics, your Kentucky Society of Healthcare Engineers is tearing it up as we slide out of our holiday stupor and steam full-throttle into our 2020 plan to provide the best education, the best member value, and the best ASHE Platinum Elite program in the country. Please take advantage of our upcoming “Lunch & Learn” – Thursday February 20th – for hot off the presses information about the brand new Certified Healthcare Facilities Technician credential. Make sure that you register early for the March 6th CHC program in Lexington. Reserve the dates of September 29th through October 1st to attend what portends to be the BEST Healthcare Coalition Conference yet. We hope to announce next month the “partners” that will be working with KSHE to provide content for this amazing event. Also, please don’t forget to apply for the KSHE Scholarship. We are now accepting applications from students that have been accepted into a KY based University or College in either a 2-year or 4-year program. The scholarship is worth $500.00 per semester for up to eight (8) semesters – a $4,000 award!
Finally, and on a completely “bummer” note, your KSHE Board is very sad to have to announce that our chapter account executive, Lydia “steady as a rock” Rudy, will be departing CMP Management and KSHE this month to further her career as an Association Executive. Lydia is AWESOME! She is our friend. She will always be our friend. Lydia has been the behind the scenes, backseat driver that has pushed and prodded KSHE to be the best…even when we didn’t think we could be. Change happens; this one is particularly difficult for your Board. Anyway, please join me in wishing Lydia the best of life, luck, happiness, love, and health. We will miss her.
