KSHE Members,
As I close out my final year as President of the KSHE Board, I wanted to reflect on some of the successes we have had this year as a team. We could not have accomplished these items without the determination of our incredible board, the support from our associate members and sponsors, and the participation we received from our membership. Here are a few things that come to mind as I think about this past year:
- We held a highly successful KSHE Annual Conference in Owensboro:
- 446 total attendees, 94 of those being facility managers, which is the most we’ve ever had
- Total revenue from the event was $278,000, which exceeded the budget by $18,000.
- World class speakers and education
- We launched the KSHE Learning Management System. Kudos to Mike Canales for his efforts to get this going.
- Already have 11 free courses that benefit our membership
- You’ll see this continue to grow in the coming years
- We started regional networking events this year. Kudos to Joe Taylor for his effort to spearhead this program.
- Our last event is coming up on Thursday, December 5th from 4:30-6:30 p.m. CST at The Pub on Second 116A West 2nd Street Owensboro, KY, 42303
- We had our 2nd annual Sporting Clay Shoot in New Albany, IN, which was a sold-out event! Thanks again to David Hinkle for helping us lead this event.
- We created an Associate Member Advisory Council led by Jason Hartz, Nick Fears, and Charles Haskins. We have seen great benefit from this by having a closer communication path with our associate members and sponsors. This group has helped us grow membership and gives us great feedback as we try to improve and grow KSHE.
I am grateful for this community of professionals and the incredible dedication to the healthcare engineering field. I look forward to participating on the KSHE board under Andy Woommavovah’s leadership who I know will lead well and continue to move KSHE in the right direction.
