Greetings KSHE Members,

Spring is just around the corner!  What a great reminder every year on the new opportunities for personal and professional growth.  Your KSHE Board continues to be one of the premier ASHE chapters nationally when it comes to supporting KSHE members with opportunities to network, learn, and develop those around you.   Some recent highlights are outlined below...

KSHE Certified Healthcare Contractor – Delivered since 2006, The KSHE CHC has established a best practice when it comes to training contractors that work in healthcare.  The growing focus on construction in healthcare, places healthcare in Kentucky ahead of nearly every chapter nationally.  The training that goes along with the exam is delivered both virtually and in-person three times a year.  What a great way to ensure your contractors understand the complexities and regulatory requirements of working in your buildings!  You can find out more about the KSHE CHC by going to www.kshe.org

OCTC Healthcare Facilities Leadership Program – The HFL program out of Owensboro was supported by KHA, KSHE, and ASHE funds back in 2012.   The program is in its ninth year and has expanded to developmental courses and credentials for technicians and leadership.  As the only academic program nationally, the HFL program is delivering on establishing a recruitment, retention, advancement, and succession planning tool for many hospitals in Kentucky.  To learn more and hear the ninth year anniversary update, register for the March 16, 2023 update at 11:30 CT at the following link: https://us06web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_RfQPmr6sT4G29imK4Kt1IA

Safe Day One – This comprehensive and foundational orientation for contractors and technicians has experienced national growth as KSHE has partnered with ASHE to expand to a national audience.   Safe Day One continues to set the pace for the healthcare industry nationally.  You can access this by going to www.kshe.org

Looking forward to seeing many of you at the May Clay Shoot!

Best,
Mike, VP KSHE Education – mike.canales@kctcs.edu
