Greetings everyone. We have a new year, a new President of the United States, but we still have the same old COVID. I’m sure you are like me and are really tired of hearing about this virus. Hopefully the vaccines will work quickly and our country can get back to some semblance of normalcy.

Your new board met for the first time in January and focused primarily on our finances and upcoming budget. It looks like we had a really good year despite the pandemic. Our virtual conference was a great success, we grew our membership, offered more educational opportunities and expanded Safe Day One’s availability across 31 states.

In the coming year our board is planning to grow on these successes. We hope to have a plan, COVID allowing, to create a hybrid HCC this fall. To go back to an in-person experience that a lot of us miss and still give the ones that cannot attend the ability to get the educational opportunities of the conference. We hope to expand on the success of Safe Day One and create other educational opportunities for our membership. We still do not have all of our Kentucky hospitals as members. We will find a way to get these other hospitals to come and join us and take advantage of the great opportunities available through KSHE. Let us get more Kentucky hospitals involved in Energy to Care. It is a great way to track how you are doing and, if you are upgrading, how successful you are so you can show your leadership what you are accomplishing.

We have a great board with great members who come up with great ideas, but are we doing what you, our members, need us to do for you? Let us know what you think. How can we help you to be more successful? We are here to support you and give you the opportunity to succeed in our chosen profession.

Thank you for all you do every day to support our hospitals so they can give quality care to our patients.
