By Joe Taylor, KSHE President

I’m so happy that cooler weather has arrived and that the “Summer of 2020” is behind us. I’m especially excited that our first EVER Healthcare Coalition Conference is still happening – even in the midst of a pandemic. Your KSHE Board is working very hard to put on a national-level, first-class virtual event, and it’s shaping up to be EPIC! At this writing there are nearly 350 attendees registered, which is THREE TIMES the number of people that usually attend our face-to-face events. I’m betting that by the start of the conference on Tuesday October 20th we will have over 500 hospital/healthcare registered attendees.

Associate members, vendors, suppliers, and partners: As of Thursday October 1st our Presidential Level Sponsors for this year’s HCC are Harshaw Trane, Johnson Controls and Mitchell & Lindsey, and our Platinum Level Sponsor is Air Equipment Company. We are excited to have each of them, and all of our sponsors continue to demonstrate support for the HCC and quality education for our facilities leaders and technicians – even in our virtual environment. For those of you “on the fence” about sponsoring and/or exhibiting, there is still time to become a sponsor/exhibitor. DO NOT MISS the opportunity to share your products and services with such a large group of users and decision makers. SPONSOR/EXHIBITOR LINK If you have questions about how exhibiting works in a virtual world, please call me (Joe Taylor: 270-417-5010).

Our distinguished panel of speakers include Doug Erickson with the Facilities Guidelines Institute, Jim Kendig from the Joint Commission, Nancy Galvagni, President of the Kentucky Hospital Association, and Jonathan Fanning will be the Keynote Speaker. There will be a virtual Trivia Night social event on Tuesday night (10/20) and a “Bourbon Tasting Adventure” on Wednesday night (10/21). One of the Tool Belt Sessions is titled “Tools I Wish I Had in Healthcare” with show & tell by Grainger, Fluke Tools, Milwaukee Tools, Rowe-Thrush Inc, and Mobile-Shop Company. Something for everyone.

Finally, by the time you get this you will have elected your new KSHE Board for the 2021/22 term, which begins January 1, 2021. We will introduce the new Board Members to the KSHE membership at our annual meeting during the HCC on Wednesday 10/21 at 10:00 CDT. Please plan to attend.

Best wishes,
