As the Department of Health and Human Services formally renews the COVID-19 public health emergency declaration and we continue to experience situations and conditions that are new and different in our time in healthcare, I hope you find time to take care of yourself and your family. As our expertise in facilities management continues to be needed and challenged, our value to excellent, safe patient care is more important than ever, and we are really making a difference in the lives of our teammates, patients and community.

ASHE resources continue to be at the forefront of pertinent information. From the periodic COVID-19 Resource Roundup newsletters to the new weekly ASHE webinar series, you will continue to find ASHE to be a trusted resource for healthcare facility engineering and management. All ASHE resources can be found at https://www.ashe.org/

ASHE Annual Conference has gone all virtual for 2020, and it is shaping up to be a great time! It will be held October 5-7, 2020, and includes live and pre-recorded sessions. Check out the current schedule and you will see it includes sessions you don’t want to miss! https://s6.goeshow.com/ashe/annual/2020/index.cfm

Health Facilities Management magazine publishes good information, and the latest edition includes the cover story “Advocacy Guidance,” which includes a discussion about post-pandemic code changes. HFM can be found at https://digital.hfmmagazine.com/.

I again want to highlight the great KSHE COVID-19 Forums. The most recent one from July is outstanding and available on the KSHE website.

Thank you for what you do, as our job helps keep people healthy and safe in these trying times. Be safe, be well and I hope to see you soon.
