Greetings KSHE Members,

Hard to believe it is fall already and another successful HCC is in the books! From CHFM to CHC to Toolbox to Emergency Management to a fantastic key note speaker, and many other quality programming and trade show events, this year’s conference stands as another incredible value for you as KSHE members. If you were unable to attend the conference this year, we hope you are making plans and are able to join us in Owensboro next year. That being said, we still have lots of educational opportunities left this year to bring value to your membership!

Join us for the October, November, & December Webinars. On October 17, 2019 at 11:30 CT/12:30 ET, Healthcare Facilities Technician, An AWESOME Career Path will be presented. With an emphasis on three stages of healthcare facilities technician careers development built around the terms Inspire, Promote, and Advance, this webinar will share a number of current and emerging opportunities and methods for recruiting, developing, and advancing in the healthcare facilities profession. This will be an updated version of the presentation delivered at the HCC with a special focus on the Certified Healthcare Facilities Technician (CHFT) certifications. In November and December, we will feature the following webinars both presented by SSR:

November – How to have a surveyors FRESH EYES with your own staff.
December – Planning for internal utility failures response & Recovery per CMS All Hazard E-tags.
Join us for the no cost, high value, and timely educational sessions.

On December 6, 2019, we will be holding a Certified Healthcare Contractor all day training session that will be followed by the CHC test in Ashland, KY. This is a great opportunity for those of you in Eastern Kentucky to participate and encourage your contractors to get credentialed for working in healthcare facilities. This high-quality training and certification has been growing in importance as our industry continues to recognize and understand the importance of a prepared workforce in healthcare facilities.

Also, if your organization would like to host or have education brought directly to your facility for your technicians at no cost as a member organization, reach out to me or one of the KSHE board members to coordinate.

Finally, don’t forget to check out the website for other educational offerings and under webinars found under the Resources tab at www.kshe.org.

It is the KSHE board’s hope that you not only see the value of being a KSHE member, but that you are proud to be part of KSHE as a member and can share with your organizations leadership the importance, value, and service we are providing the profession, your organization, and the patients we serve!

We look forward to your participation in the many opportunities close to home!

Best,
Mike, VP KSHE Education – mike.canales@kctcs.edu
