College Services Monthly
Monthly Feature

In this unprecedented time for our country and the world, we are at the helm of what is perhaps the greatest public health issue we’ve seen in a century. In higher education, we are all faced with an enormous task: keeping our campus communities safe.

One great thing about being a member of a professional association is that a majority of the benefits are availiable virtually. You don't even need to leave your couch to access a wide range of tools and resources to assist with your day-to-day operations, as well as with future forecasting and addressing the big issues facing our industry.

As you are dealing with the fallout of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the coming weeks, we encourage you to continue to make use of the NACAS Marketplace for resources, NACAS Lounge for peer-to-peer advice, and our Online Education options. This is an ever-evolving issue and we are working around the clock to provide you with the the most up-to-date tools and resources that can guide your decision-making.

If you have any tips or best practices surrounding the coronavirus response that you would like to share with NACAS and your fellow auxiliary services professionals, please submit those to submissions@nacas.org. We are most successful as an industry when we are united in helping each other.

According to NACAS Research, students define success by personal traits such as being committed, working hard, and being ambitious. Most recently, our studies show that students have defined success as “happiness” and “feeling fulfilled.” Further, 2019 data indicates that students rank university mental and physical health services amongst the top three most important factors needed critical to achieving success.

PROMPT: How do auxiliary services impact students’ holistic wellbeing? Please provide specific examples of how auxiliary services can help improve the lives of students on your campus.
