Support NACAS Education Foundation
2014 was a year of innovation and evolution for NACAS and the NACAS Education Foundation. The Foundation continued to work with NACAS leadership to help ensure support for NACAS programs and services, including scholarships, awards, and professional development opportunities. During the past year, the Foundation:
  • Provided support for awards, including Innovative Achievement in Auxiliary Services, Innovative Use of Technology, College Foodservice Excellence, Volunteer of the Year, Outstanding Business Partner of the Year, David H. Lord Award for Exemplary Community Service, and the Hassmiller Scholarship.
  • Provided funding for the Mereese Ladson Scholarships, the Emerging Leader Scholarship, scholarships for first-time annual conference attendees from the Institute for Managers, and scholarships for CASP candidates.
  • Provided $20,000 in support of NACAS professional development activities and an additional $60,000 for CASP.
The Education Foundation continues to receive strong support from our regional boards and sincerely appreciates their efforts to support our fundraising activities. Last fall, NACAS East, with the support of the Foundation, challenged NACAS past presidents to make a donation to the NACAS Education Foundation and offered to match the first $2,500 raised. Over 40 past presidents answered the call and generated more than $16,000 for the Foundation.

The Education Foundation is also thankful for the many committed NACAS business partners who support our efforts through annual and multi-year gifts, sponsorships, and in-kind contributions. In October, business partner contributions helped the Foundation raise more than $16,000 through annual conference fundraising activities, including the raffle, flip-a-coin, and (first-ever online) silent auction, in Montréal.

NACAS members continue to provide substantial financial support to the Foundation to help fund its many scholarships, programs, and initiatives. In fact, more NACAS members than ever are supporting the Foundation, many through automatic monthly donations. On behalf of the NACAS Education Foundation, thank you to those of you who already support this important work. Our honor roll of donors can be found here.

As you consider your giving for 2015, I hope you will include a contribution to the NACAS Education Foundation. The funds raised support programs and services that benefit NACAS members and support the future of your profession. You can become a donor today at nacas.org/donate.
