The proliferation of RF components used in phased arrays has opened opportunities for miniaturized and cost-effective solutions across various industries. However, the need for accurate calibration and measurement of AESA performance is rising. Imagine a cost-effective solution that provides highly repeatable mechanical performance, reliability, and unmatched acceleration and settling times. Now imagine being able to easily reconfigure this solution to support multiple measurement geometries. This is now possible with the rise of industrial robots in antenna measurement systems.

This article explores the calibration process using two robotic-based measurement facilities currently under development at NSI-MI Technologies.
