More than 1,639 attendees visited San Diego for the ISTAT Americas 2014 conference, the 31st annual event of the society, where industry experts in aircraft and engine manufacturing, leasing, finance, and appraisal, among other specialties, presented their outlook of the aviation industry.

 

 

One of the most popular ISTAT gatherings, the ISTAT Holiday Reception, returns this year with five locations. The events will be held around the globe on Wednesday, 3 December in New York, London, Dublin, Singapore and Tokyo. Save the date now, and look out for more details later in the year.

Southwest Airlines announced Monday that it will more than double its flights at Reagan National Airport, adding seven new nonstops beginning this summer.

Los Angeles Times Thanks to declining fuel prices, the nation's airlines reported healthy profits in 2013 and can expect a record number of passengers on international flights this spring. That was the message from Airlines for America, the trade group for the nation's air carriers that has become accustomed to reporting razor-thin profits in the last few years.

 

Business Standard Global aircraft engine supplier GE Aviation today said it is collaborating with national airports operator AAI to improve airspace efficiency in Bangalore, Mangalore and Guwahati airports. The collaboration comes through a US Trade and Development Agency grant.
