Register now for the largest regional drill and blast conference in the country. The Kentucky Blasting Conference will be held Dec. 10-11, 2020, at the Galt House in Louisville, Ky., and will feature presentations covering various topics like underground blasting, construction and quarry blasting, drilling, regulatory topics and other general topics such as fragmentation and vibrations.

There will also be a Kentucky blaster exam test prep course and the opportunity to take the Kentucky blaster exam for those in-state.

The January/February 2021 issue of the Journal of Explosives Engineering will feature an Inaugural Drilling and Blasting Marketplace. With ISEE’s conference cancelation, we wanted to provide an opportunity for companies that typically exhibit to advertise new or existing products and services all in one place.
 
This is open to all companies interested in reaching ISEE members and other key explosives industry leaders. All ads and website links will be included in both the print and digital editions of the Journal of Explosives Engineering.
 
There's still time to register for the ISEE Webinar Series: Blasters Training 2020 – Part 3, which will run from 5 – 9:30 p.m. eastern time Thursday, Nov. 19.

This 4.5 hour webinar will cover geology factors in blast performance; blast timing configurations; bulk explosives equipment; and blasting safety.

Eighteen states have approved the ISEE webinar series including New York and Virginia. 

The webinar is $100, and will feature a live question and answer session after each presentation. Once all the presentations have concluded, attendees seeking credit hours will take a 20 question quiz. Attendees must score 75 percent or better to earn a training certificate.
 
Nominate a coworker or colleague who has made an exceptional contribution to the fields of explosives or drilling for one of the International Society of Explosives Engineers most prestigious awards. There are four awards the ISEE is accepting nominations for:
 
Blaster’s Leadership Award: Presented to those who exemplify the blaster in the field and have given generously of time and talents in helping fellow blasters.
 
Driller of The Year Award: Recognizes a drill operator with a high moral character and whose body of work demonstrates an extraordinary commitment to compliance and safety; work ethic; performing quality work; is a team player; and communication skills.
 
Drilling Industry Leadership Award: Recognizes owner/operators of mines and/or contractors (their engineers and managers), supplier/vendors (of equipment, tools and systems), consultants, and academia of high moral character who have given extraordinary amount of their time and knowledge to advance the drilling industry with application, technology, engineering or field work.
 
Distinguished Service Award: An award of merit given to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the field of explosives engineering.
 
There's still time to vote in the ISEE Board of Directors Election. Eligible voters, all members in good standing, with the exception, of student members, can cast votes until Nov. 30, 2020. Full and emeritus members are also eligible to vote for several amendments to the constitution.
 
Eligible voters with an email on file should have received an email with step-by-step instructions for casting a vote online. Members who don’t have an email address on file should have received print ballots in the mail.
