Recent Innovations That Matter:
Temperature Measuring Electronic Detonator

Austin Powder has developed a groundbreaking method for safer blasting by employing electronic detonators with integrated temperature measuring capabilities (ITM). Addressing the industry's common challenge of elevated blast hole temperatures, the ITM detonators monitor real-time temperatures at various locations within the blast hole, enabling instant responses to temperature changes. Deployed at a Mexican mine site, the ITM detonators provided unprecedented real-time temperature data, facilitating the creation of adaptive elevated temperature handling policies. The mine can also be mapped for future designs and product selection for safety and performance. This innovative approach enhances safety by preventing risks associated with elevated temperatures during the drill and blast process.
