Admiral William H. McRaven, USN (Ret.)

ILTA is thrilled to announce two of the three keynoters for the 40th Annual Operating Conference and Trade Show in Houston June 8-10: Admiral William H. McRaven, USN (Ret.) and David Wasserman, senior election analyst at The Cook Political Report.

Retired U.S. Navy four-star admiral and former chancellor of the University of Texas system, McRaven will open our conference with a presentation on leadership and risk management. McRaven is an expert on the topic, having commanded special operations forces at every level before taking charge of U.S. Special Operations Command from 2011 to 2014.

He is a recognized national authority on U.S. foreign policy and has advised Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama as well as other U.S. leaders on defense issues. McRaven has been recognized for his leadership many times, including in 2011, when he was the first runner-up for TIME Magazine’s “Person of the Year.” McRaven’s book Make Your Bed: Little Things That Can Change Your Life and Maybe the World, based on his 2014 UT commencement speech, has received worldwide attention.

  David Wasserman

ILTA’s has also engaged highly respected election analyst Wasserman to break down the upcoming 2020 U.S. national election, running through scenarios and possible outcomes. Wasserman is the U.S. House editor and senior election analyst for the non-partisan newsletter, The Cook Political Report, and a contributor to NBC News.

Wasserman will present data-driven forecasting to look at the presidential election, both national and local trends, the relationship between consumer brand loyalty and voting, and what the future holds for the American elections.

Wasserman drew widespread praise in 2016 for his accurate pre-election analysis, including his uncanny September piece titled, How Trump Could Win the White House While Losing the Popular Voice. Chuck Todd, host of NBC’s Meet the Press, recently called Wasserman “pretty much the only person you need to follow on Election Night.”
