ILTA Security Subcommittee Discusses Cybersecurity, Coast Guard Initiatives

The ILTA Security Subcommittee met on March 30 in New Orleans and received briefings from three guest speakers. Lester Millet, President of the Louisiana Chapter of InfraGard, a public-private partnership in coordination with the FBI, described the group’s work in information sharing and policy development related to physical and cyber security preparedness.

Next, the committee heard from U.S. Coast Guard LCDM Kelly Edwards and the lead Cybersecurity Coordinator for the Eighth Coast Guard district, Carl Hatfield. Our two Coast Guard guest speakers provided committee members with a detailed presentation on the Coast Guards work on cybersecurity, and opportunities for industry to engage with the Coast Guard to strengthen their own cybersecurity strategies.
