A NOTE FROM OUR PRESIDENT

Dear ILTA members,

I hope this note finds you well. I want to take a moment to thank you for the hard work that you, as an industry, are doing to keep critical products moving during this difficult time as well as your continued support of ILTA.

As you’ve no doubt heard by now, ILTA earlier this month announced it is committed to holding its 40th Annual Operating Conference and Trade Show in 2020 and has shifted the dates to November 16-18. The event, originally scheduled for June, will remain in Houston.

We have based this decision on what we have heard from our members and our exhibitors, and we are confident this is the best way for ILTA to serve the industry during these unprecedented times. Safety is always a priority for our industry, and our decision to shift the event to later this year is guided by that. We know how important our annual event is to tank and terminal professionals and to the companies that provide them with products and services. We want our industry community to know that we are here for them.

As our Chairman Kip Middendorf said, “For many companies, current constraints are causing planned construction, inspection and maintenance work to be delayed until later this year, or even into early 2021. The new timing for our annual event will make sure terminal company decision makers have the opportunity to see and purchase products and services they will need for that work.” Kip also noted that moving the dates allows ILTA members “to participate in the valuable information and educational opportunities presented during the conference.”

I also wanted to remind you that ILTA continues to offer you additional resources during the pandemic, including:

Weekly Terminal Operator Calls: ILTA continues to host weekly calls with all terminal members to hear the latest updates on industry responses to COVID-19. These calls provide an opportunity to brief participants on recently announced accommodations by regulators such as the Coast Guard and EPA. They also allow members to direct questions to the group, either by speaking or posting a question on the realtime chat function. The calls are recorded and are posted on the ILTA website.

We routinely have 60-80 members participating on the call, and we have discussed a wide variety of topics, ranging from regulatory and Congressional updates to operational challenges and solutions.

ILTA Peer Exchange on COVID-19 Response Measures: ILTA continues to run an online platform to allow terminal company professionals to post questions, respond to posts from others, and to share availability of newly released documents, upcoming webinars, or other resources relevant to the tank terminal industry. You can reach the ILTA Peer Exchange through the ILTA website or directly at  https://ilta.ideascale.com.

ILTA Website: ILTA has a dedicated webpage on its site with links to government sites, industry pandemic preparedness plans and other resources. We have designed this page to make it easy for you to quickly access key resources. We will continuously update this page as new resources become available. If there is a resource link you would like to see included on our page, please let us know.
