To align itself with the European Union’s efforts to address climate change, the European Investment Bank is proposing to end loans for fossil fuel programs. The EIB governors will vote on the proposed planned, released Friday, in September. The plan proposes halting loans to “oil and gas production, infrastructure primarily dedicated to natural gas, power generation or heat based on fossil fuels” by the end of 2020.
