Just a few weeks ago, driven by an effort initiated by the community's young people, the Braidwood Park District passed an ordinance to restrict the use of all tobacco products, including e-cigarettes in their parks. And they were not alone.

IPRA has teamed up with PlayCore and GameTime to promote play and health to positively impact the quality of life across the state of Illinois.

To help communities put research into action and promote quality of life across Illinois, GameTime will provide up to $1 million in matching funds to assist applicants in each region install a pre-approved playground space that will serve as a National Demonstration Site.

The Silent Auction is a way in which the Illinois Park and Recreation Foundation (IPRF) raises funds for the Illinois Park and Recreation Student Scholarship Fund. The scholarship fund has been created to give high achieving students the opportunity to attend professional development conferences and workshops. The IPRF provides resources to park and recreation agencies and professionals statewide, and this scholarship is an important aspect of this commitment, as they work toward developing students professionally through networking and education.

How do we rebrand, redesign and remarked our programs to attract the ballooning population of older adults and retirees. This interactive workshop applies the 8 Ps of Marketing Success to this elusive, yet essential, population: purpose, planning, products, people, pricing, perspective, placement, and promotion.

Teens have fun learning to carve perfect turns, race down a slalom course, or master tricks in the terrain park with park district friends from all over Illinois. Wilmot Mountain in Wisconsin has 25 unique runs that will be engaging for novice and expert ski/snowboarders alike.
