July 30 Deadline: RFP Announcement for Energy Efficiency Funding

Grant reimbursements can be up to $300,000 per facility location for projects including boiler and chiller replacements, HVAC system tune-ups, indoor and outdoor lighting upgrades, heat distribution system upgrades, pipe insulation, and more. Projects result in energy and cost savings, and have an average payback of 3.49 years. Select HVAC system maintenance and upgrade projects may also be completed at no direct cost to the public agency. Funding for this program is provided by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) Illinois Energy Now program.

Project Proposal Forms for indoor and outdoor lighting projects are due July 30, 2014 in order to be eligible for supplemental funding through the Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation that may fund up to 100% of project costs when coupled with PSEE grant reimbursements. 360 Energy Group will provide direct grant application assistance to help public agencies take advantage of all state and private funding available to pay for energy efficiency improvements.

Project Proposal Forms for all energy efficiency projects are due September 1, 2014. If you need assistance planning your project, the program includes free technical assistance from 360 Energy Group at no cost to Public Agencies.

All project completed by October 31, 2014 are eligible for a 10% "sweet deal" bonus. An additional 15% project bonus is also available for attending a DCEO-sponsored event on July 24: http://www.erc.uic.edu/news-events/
