Breaking News from IPRA’s Chairman of the Board
The IPRA Board recently named Rick Hanetho as the 2014 Chairman-Elect. Rick has served on the IPRA Board since 2011. He currently serves as the secretary of the board. He has been an active member of IPRA since 1986 when he began his career in the parks and recreation field at the Schaumburg Park District. He serves as the executive director for the Northbrook Park District. He is a certified parks and recreation professional (CPRP) and holds a Bachelor’s degree in recreation administration from Southern Illinois University. IPRA is in a position where we are stronger than ever and the future is looking brighter. Rick is a strong leader who is dedicated to advancing IPRA to the next level. Rick will be charged with the implementation of the second year of the new strategic master plan. I know you will support him in the advancement of IPRA. Please join the IPRA Board in congratulating Rick! Drum Roll Please... The last year has focused a lot of energy on the development of a strategic master plan for IPRA that will bring revolutionary changes to our association. At the IPRA Board meeting last week, the Board unanimously approved the new five-year plan. The plan will take effect January 1, 2014. IPRA’s new strategic master plan will be the association’s driving force behind everything we do to continue to be a relevant industry leader. The board is planning to host a series of in-person events all over the state to go through the details of the plan to keep you well-informed. Stay tuned for more information on the road show! Thank you to all the members who participated in focus groups throughout the year. Your candid and thoughtful input allowed for us to develop a revolutionary plan that will shape IPRA’s future. I also want to thank the IPRA Board for their commitment and support throughout the year. I applaud their willingness to make themselves available for extra meetings and their dedication to make sure IPRA continues in the right direction. Remember, this is your organization.
