Yes, it is still quite chilly outside, but things are definitely heating up with IPRA!

We have been carefully and swiftly working to get the strategic plan implementation in motion.  Committees and task forces have been developed and will begin meeting next month. 

New Committees/Task Forces /Chairman:
Education Committee – Rick Hanetho
Member Communication Task Force – Allison Niemela
Governance Task Force -  John Curran
Administrative Policy Task Force -  Mike Sletten

In addition, the Professional Services Committee is back in action working on the member services manual and more.  Committees are comprised of members from a variety of regions and positions within the field.  We are still working to plug people in. Now is the time to let us know if you’re interested.

Awareness of the field is another area very important to us – shouting to all how wonderful parks and recreation is!  I would like to start with letting our summer staff realize there is life beyond the pools and summer camps!  To expand our efforts, I am interested in "stopping by" your summer staff seasonal training to give a pep talk, tell them about the field and pump them up for summer.  If you are interested, e-mail me. If we cannot work in a visit, I encourage you to show the career recruitment videos created by the College and University Relations Committee - these are a great tool!
