Institute of International Education
New York City

The Institute of International Education’s Center for International Partnerships in Higher Education will host a roundtable discussion to explore new ways of expanding educational exchanges and academic linkages between the United States and Laos. Click to view the invitation. The discussion will feature a presentation by Dr. Phonephet Boupha, Director General of Higher Education Department, Ministry of Education and Sports, Laos.

The Ministry of Education and Sports (MOES) in Laos is in the process of reforming the entire education system in order to improve equitable access to education and quality, in line with education for sustainable development. In this regard, the reform process must respond to the challenges posed by regionalization and globalization: this is particularly true for the development of the higher education sector in Laos. International collaboration will be critical to achieving different aspects of educational reform, such as governance, teaching, research and knowledge production, quality assurance, and academic freedom.

To participate, please RSVP to jakeley@iie.org.
