The Institute of International Education (IIE) is delighted to invite you to nominate your program for the 2017 Andrew Heiskell Awards for Innovation in International Education. IIE created these awards to honor outstanding initiatives in international higher education by IIENetwork member universities and colleges. IIE's Heiskell Awards showcase the most innovative and successful models for internationalization of campuses, study abroad, and international exchange partnerships in practice today. There are four award categories for 2017: Internationalizing the Campus, Study Abroad, International Partnerships, and Internationalizing Minority Serving Institutions.
Help bring U.S. and international students on your campus together through open conversations and dialogue around the 2016 presidential election. Organized by the 92nd Street Y, Mic and PRI and in partnership with IIE, the UnConvention is a global conversation taking place across broadcast and social media, via live events, and through community meet-ups. Interested in bringing the conversation to your campus? Let IIE know by signing up for more information! IIE Network Members who participate could win a free pass to IIE’s Annual Best Practices International Education Conference.

Ethiopia Tilahun, Country Director of IIE’s Addis Ababa office, reflects on the graduation ceremony where 100 girls graduated from high school and from IIE’s Higher Education Readiness program in Ethiopia. Testimonies from the girls themselves are a strong indication of just how powerful this program was not just on the students, but on their families as well. Ethiopia said, "On their graduation day, we wanted to celebrate the accomplishments of the HER girls and provide a forum for other organizations to see the program’s impact on beneficiaries [...] Representatives from government offices, international and local NGOs, UN agencies and others attended the graduation ceremony and left with excitement—some even thinking about how to join hands with us in this precious work of changing lives for the better."
