IIE is pleased to announce the Spring 2016 edition of the IIENetworker magazine, "Faculty-Driven Internationalization," now available as a free interactive flip book. As internationalization becomes an increasing priority for higher education worldwide, the involvement of faculty is an essential but sometimes neglected component. We have therefore focused this entire issue on the many ways faculty can and are championing internationalization efforts. It also includes a variety of perspectives from faculty, administrators, and other professionals on how institutions encourage and support faculty engagement. Articles include:

         Strategy — Anne B. Waters
     •  Internationalizing the Tenure Code — Robin Matross Helms
         and Andrea Lanoux
     •  Creating Global Clinical Internships in Healthcare Amy Nagorski Johnson

Institutions interested in hosting Russian and/or Turkish are asked to provide the minimum cost share of a tuition and fees waiver for two courses per semester or one per quarter. The grantees’ program expenses (housing, food and daily living expenses) will be covered by the sponsor.

Deadline: April 6, 2016 | Complete Survey Online

The 2016 Open Doors Intensive English Program Survey is open and available at www.iie.org/surveyforms. The survey captures information on international English program students enrolled for the 2015 calendar year.

The compilation of data published in Open Doors is only possible with the assistance of international education and intensive English professionals at programs throughout the United States who voluntarily provide their data for aggregate reporting in Open Doors. If your institution does not currently participate in the surveys or needs to update contact information, please contact us at iieresearch@iie.org or fill out our Update Contact Form and we will gladly add your institution to IIE’s Open Doors database.

Open Doors is the key resource on international students and scholars in the United States, and U.S. students studying abroad. The Open Doors report is published by the Institute of International Education. IIE has conducted an annual statistical survey of the international students in the United States since 1919, in partnership with the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs since the early 1970s. For more information about Open Doors and to access data highlights, visit our website at www.iie.org/OpenDoors

If you did not receive the survey, please make sure to add iieresearch@iie.org to your address book to ensure our survey invitations continue to reach your inbox. If you have any questions about the survey, please send an email to iieresearch@iie.org or call (646) 308-7213.
