Today, the Institute of International Education is participating in #GivingTuesday—a movement to make December 2nd a day of national giving and kick-off the holiday giving season. We are proud to be a part of this movement, and have dedicated this year’s #GivingTuesday to IIE’s Study Abroad Fund. Please join our effort to make study abroad accessible to more U.S. students by making a donation now to the IIE Study Abroad Fund.

A component of Generation Study Abroad™, a five-year initiative with the goal of doubling the number of U.S. students studying abroad by the end of the decade, the IIE Study Abroad Fund was established to reduce financial barriers and create pathways for study abroad by:
  • providing scholarships to U.S. college and high school students to study abroad
  • recognizing U.S. universities and institutions that are making outstanding progress in achieving their study abroad targets and providing them with incentive grants to help their students pursue educational opportunities abroad. The first grants will be awarded in spring 2015.

With the help of a Whitaker International Scholarship, Mark Rocco was able to work with researchers at Imperial College London on new ways to cure heart disease. Please help give other students the chance of a lifetime to gain valuable international experience.

By donating to IIE Study Abroad Fund this #GivingTuesday, you will enable future leaders, such as Mark Rocco, to reach their full potential and gain the international skills and experience required of them in the global economy. Studies show that students who study abroad have better grades, experience less attrition, and graduate from college at higher rates than students who do not study abroad.

Please consider donating today and visit IIE’s Generation Study Abroad YouTube page to learn more about the transformational impact of study abroad.

Charity Navigator. We are pleased to report that Charity Navigator has given the Institute a 4-star rating for the seventh year in a row. Only 2% of U.S. charities have received this "exceptional" designation from Charity Navigator, indicating IIE outperforms most other charities in America. You can view our Financials here.
