The U.S. and Cuba are poised to restore diplomatic relations, which may lead to big shifts in higher education, according to Alia Wong’s article in The Atlantic. As restrictions gradually relaxed after Obama took office, opportunities for studying abroad in Cuba have increased. "I hope the numbers will grow," said IIE President Allan Goodman, interviewed for the article. "But I really hope they grow both ways." As of now, about two dozen Cuba study abroad programs are in operation in the United States.
