A new study finds that U.S. consumers who plan to buy or lease a new car are attracted to the smart technology that comes with the vehicle. The majority (79%) of those who plan to buy or lease a new vehicle say they would consider abandoning a favorite automaker or vehicle to get the latest smart technology, according to the study by GfK.

The Institute of Transportation Engineers, which has a chapter in every state, has agreed with a report by Sweden-born engineer Mats Järlström that the existing yellow-light calculus is not adequate. Järlström is pushing for one specific change to the kinematic equation: the amount of time needed when someone is turning during a yellow light or waiting to turn.

Gartner states that by 2023 more than 740,000 autonomous-ready vehicles will be added to the global market. Gartner’s predicted figure of exactly 745,705 units is significantly up from 137,129 units in 2018. This growth will predominantly come from North America, Greater China and Western Europe, as countries in these regions become the first to introduce regulations around autonomous driving technology, Gartner states.

Komen foundation teamed up again for the month of October to help raise awareness about checking for breast cancer as well as to raise money to find a cure.  7 Flags Car Wash donated $1 for every full-service car wash and $1 for every Fast Pass sold for the month of October and also accepted donations from their loyal customers – raising over $7,008 to donate to the Susan G. Komen foundation to help find a cure.

Brown Bear Car Wash  has donated $13,534 to Puget Sound Honor Flight, supporting the organization’s mission of transporting Western Washington veterans to visit military memorials in Washington, D.C.  Family-owned, Seattle-based Brown Bear donated $1 for each of the 13,534 cars washed at its 26 tunnel wash locations during the Veterans Day observance.
