A new app could make the old “phone, wallet, keys” mantra obsolete. Lincoln's new Phone As A Key technology permits owners to lock and unlock, and start and drive the vehicle without a traditional key. The system operates with Bluetooth to provide a connection in situations when there is no Wi-Fi or cell network available.

When comparing gas versus electric power, as far as greenhouse gas emissions are concerned when it comes to vehicles, a new study by MIT and the Ford Motor Company found that, depending on the location, in some cases an equivalent or even bigger reduction in emissions could be achieved by switching to lightweight conventional (gas-powered) vehicles instead of electric— at least in the near term.

A new express car wash/vacuum business will soon be built in Alexandria, Minn. It will be a single-bay car wash with a conveyor belt and room for 20 vehicles on the property. It will also include 10 vacuum stations. The project manager, Matt Hagstrom, is hoping for a late winter opening.
