Splash! 2016 made waves in the car wash industry last October when it drew more than 700 people. This October, the fun and excitement is moving to New Orleans for Splash! 2017 October 24-25 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.

The 24-hour event features one on one opportunities to talk to car wash suppliers and peers, along with plenty of opportunities to enjoy food and friends in New Orleans.

The event will feature food, drink, quick-hitting Wash Talks and a sponsor space to provide attendees an opportunity to connect with supplier companies.

This year’s event looks to build on the 56 sponsor companies and nearly 750 attendees from last year, with two types of booths, and very limited equipment, which creates a different style of vendor-operator interaction.

Employees get more than a clean car as a perk of working at Crew Carwash, which was named a Top Workplace for the second consecutive year and the No. 2 large company in 2017. When employees talk about their work experience at Crew, what really bubbles up is that their hard work is appreciated and recognized.

Another Starkville eatery has closed its door for good and plans are in the works to add a different type of business to the lot on Highway 12 next door to Shipley’s Do-Nuts. Signs on each customer entrance of the Starkville Denny’s reads: "Denny’s of Starkville is now closed. We thank you for your patronage." The Denny’s sign facing out onto Highway 12 now features a "coming soon" banner for Super Sonic Carwash.

One of the most tangible benefits of embracing diversity and inclusion is a company’s ability to attract a broader pool of qualified talent. Conversations about being more inclusive in the workplace focus mostly on gender and race, sometimes on sexuality and age, and only rarely on other forms of diversity.

Traditionally, hiring decisions have fallen solely on the shoulders of the employer. And, for owners of small, but growing businesses, this responsibility is a major cause of stress and pressure. By staying fully in charge of the hiring process, moreover, these same leaders may be causing potential candidates to shy away from accepting a job offer.

As a content strategist, I ask people about their content marketing goals every day. Sometimes I almost feel like a fast food worker. "Would you like some lead gen with that?" These goals vary greatly since content can impact everything from sales to customer experience, but there’s one goal that’s pretty universal: growing your email list.

One of the most important dances that digital advertisers perform is the maximization of revenue on a minimal budget. It is quite remedial, really; the goal is to optimize the value of campaigns. Well, now Facebook can help you with that. Two new features have been launched by Facebook: Value Optimization targeting and value-based Lookalike Audiences.
